Sr. Data Engineer

As a Senior Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining data solutions on the Microsoft Azure Data platform and SQL Server (SSIS, SSAS, UC4 Atomic). Your primary role will involve collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure efficient processing, storage, and retrieval of large volumes of data. Your technical expertise and responsibilities will include designing, building, and maintaining scalable and reliable data pipelines. You should be proficient in designing and building solutions in Azure Data Factory, Databricks, and SSIS for extracting, transforming, and loading data into different source and target systems. Additionally, you will analyze the existing data landscape to provide recommendations for rearchitecting, optimizing, and streamlining data processes. Effective communication with onshore counterparts to address technical gaps, requirement challenges, and complex scenarios will be crucial in your role. You will also monitor and troubleshoot data systems to ensure high performance and reliability while optimizing data processes for speed and efficiency. Furthermore, you will define and execute the data engineering strategy in alignment with the company's goals, integrate data from various sources, ensure data quality and consistency, and stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends. Your deep knowledge of the banking industry will enable you to understand business processes and translate them into data requirements effectively. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including product owners, business stakeholders, IT, and DevOps teams, will be essential to ensure data infrastructure aligns with overall IT architecture. You will drive continuous improvement initiatives within the data engineering function, optimize data flow for different teams, and implement best practices for data security and privacy. Your role will also involve managing data conversions, troubleshooting technical issues, and working on data lifecycle management. Proficiency in data structures, algorithms, SQL, Python, and ETL projects will be valuable assets in fulfilling the job expectations. In summary, as a Senior Data Engineer, you are expected to have 8-10 years of experience in designing and developing warehouse solutions using Azure Synapse Analytics, ADLS, ADF, Databricks, Power BI, Azure Analysis Services. Your expertise in working with large amounts of data, cloud services, DevOps frameworks, and automation tools will be critical in meeting the demands of the role. This is a full-time contractual/temporary position with a contract length of 8 months. The work schedule is a day shift, and the job location requires in-person presence.
