Sr Business Analyst

As a Senior Business Analyst for Reporting and Analytics at Ameriprise Bank (BCS Analytics), you will play a crucial role in developing Power Bi dashboards, creating complex SQL queries, and delivering actionable insights to support strategic decision-making. Your responsibilities will include maintaining and enhancing reporting structures, introducing automation where possible, and serving as the primary liaison between the Technology Organization, Businesses, and internal teams. You will be expected to design, develop, and implement sophisticated Power BI solutions, including ETL processes, data models, interactive dashboards, and reports that effectively communicate key performance indicators and insights. Additionally, you will be responsible for creating Excel reports, utilizing advanced data aggregation techniques, and ensuring adherence to best practices related to Power BI service. Your role will also involve hands-on experience with SQL, PostgreSQL, and AWS datalake for data manipulation, ad-hoc queries, and Star Schema design. You will conduct in-depth data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for process improvement or business growth, optimizing data models and queries for performance and efficiency. Collaboration with cross-functional teams, documenting business and technical processes, and demonstrating self-motivation and the ability to work both independently and in a team environment are essential aspects of this role. Strong communication skills, a high sense of urgency, and the ability to adapt to a changing environment will be key to your success in this position. Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in computer science, Data Analytics, or a related field. - 3-6 years of experience in data management and reporting. - Minimum 3 years of experience in Power BI, Advance DAX functions, and Dashboard designing. - Minimum 3 years of experience in writing complex SQL queries. - Experience with Excel reports and automation of report distribution. - Ability to work with Python or any other programming language is a plus. - Knowledge of SAS and VBA is a plus.
