Sr Automation Test Engineer with Prod Support - Google

We are looking for a Senior Automation Test Engineer who can manage both test automation and production support, while actively participating in defect triaging and related responsibilities.

We are looking for a candidate with a strong Automation background who can handle production support and actively participate in defect triaging.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

• Automate QA Test Flows:

  Design and execute automated test flows as required to ensure efficient and reliable testing.

• Production Support:

  Be available for production support and promptly address issues as they arise.

• On-Call Support:

  Participate in on-call rotations to troubleshoot and resolve critical issues.

• Quick Issue Resolution:

  Join quick meetings as needed to discuss and resolve problems efficiently.

Triaging

• Analyze failures in key integration test workflows: Smoke Tests, Pre submit, Release, Data pushes
• Respond within the SLO
• Establish root cause of failures e.g. build errors, SUT errors, or test failure
• Check coroner for crashes, in Guitar workers and SUT cells
• For test failures, attempt to do culprit finding, establish whether test is flaky, etc.
• Open Bugs against the respective owners
• Follow-up progress on Bugs
• Track true and false positive bugs
• Communicate key updates to Mars-Pathfinder chat room
• Reach out for help in the chat rooms, learn from past experiences
• Log detail triaging steps and daily summary in the provided template
• Track and log hours spent in triaging and bug follow-ups

Other:

• Respond to IRM alerts, ack and start triaging
• Monitor dashboards for test health
• Keeping track of quotas, addressing alerts, deprecations
• Where we might have to change configs/acls as the underlying systems evolve

Tools:

• Strong hands-on experience with

  Selenium

• Solid experience in

• Strong working knowledge of

• Ability to understand and analyze

  Coroner reports

• Proficient in navigating

  Sigma

  and understanding
