Sr Analyst, Cyber Security Threat Management

As a Senior Analyst at Northern Trust's security operations center, you will be responsible for conducting security monitoring, incident identification, prioritization, escalation, and directed response support functions. You will play a crucial role in executing Northern Trust's 24x7 security monitoring model to enhance the protection of the organization's networks and information. Your responsibilities will include monitoring alerts generated by security tools, providing initial response support by analyzing alerts and gathering information about potential incidents or vulnerabilities, conducting incident analysis and response following predefined procedures, creating remediation tickets, and tracking them to closure. Additionally, you will leverage Northern Trust's security runbooks and playbooks to triage alerts and escalate incidents to tier two and three analysts when necessary. To qualify for this role, you should have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related IT field and a minimum of 1+ years of experience in information security monitoring & response within a large, complex environment. You should possess a solid understanding of the Cyber Incident Response Process & Life Cycle, intermediate knowledge of security monitoring tools such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, EDR/XDR, & Email Security Solutions, as well as basic networking concepts. Experience with ITSM tools like ServiceNow is also required. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and technical skills, be self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently. Effective communication skills are essential for this role to collaborate with team members and escalate incidents appropriately.
