Sr. Analyst , Cloud Cost

• Analyze cloud spending patterns to identify trends and areas for cost reduction.
• Generate detailed cost reports using AWS Cost Explorer and other cost management tools.
• Provide actionable insights and recommendations for optimizing cloud resource usage.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement cost-saving strategies.
• Monitor and report on cloud cost performance against budget and forecasts.
• Perform other duties that support the overall objective of the position.

Education Required:

• Bachelor's degree.
• Or, any combination of education and experience which would provide the required qualifications for the position.

Experience Required:

• 4-7 years of experience in cloud computing, data analysis, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of AWS services and pricing models to monitor, analyze, and report on cloud spending across multiple accounts.
• Experience with cloud cost management tools (Harness, CloudZero, (Apptio + Turbonomic Optional)).
• Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash, etc.) and automation tools (Ansible, Terraform).
• Solid understanding of DevOps principles and practices.
• Implement automation to manage cloud resources efficiently, such as scaling policies, scheduled start/stop, and rightsizing of instances.
• Experience with financial analysis and budgeting. Generate financial reports and dashboards to visualize cloud costs and forecast future expenditures.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Certification in AWS (e.g., FinOps practitioner certified, AWS solution Architect Associate) is preferred.

License/Certification Required:

• AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner: Provides foundational knowledge of AWS cloud concepts and billing.
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate: Demonstrates ability to design cost-efficient AWS solutions.
• CompTIA Cloud+: Offers a vendor-neutral certification that covers cloud computing principles.
