Role Overview
The Senior Accounts Associate will be responsible for managing and supervising the day-to-day accounting operations of the company, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with statutory regulations, and timely closure of books. The role requires strong analytical ability, attention to detail, and familiarity with healthcare sector accounting particularly in areas such as patient billing, vendor payments, payroll, and GST compliance.
Key Responsibilities
1. Accounting & Bookkeeping
Maintain accurate books of accounts using Tally/Zoho/QuickBooks or equivalent software. Oversee daily accounting entries including sales, purchases, journal vouchers, receipts, and payments. Ensure reconciliation of bank accounts, vendor accounts, and inter-branch accounts. Verify invoices and supporting documents for all transactions.
2. Billing & Receivables
Prepare and verify patient bills, service invoices, and credit notes. Follow up with hospitals, clients, and insurance partners for outstanding payments. Maintain a tracker for receivables and ageing reports.
3. Payables & Vendor Management
Process vendor invoices after due verification and approvals. Monitor due dates and ensure timely disbursal of vendor payments. Maintain vendor ledger reconciliations.
4. Statutory Compliance
Prepare and file monthly/quarterly returns for GST, TDS, and PF/ESIC (as applicable). Assist auditors in statutory, internal, and tax audits. Maintain proper documentation for compliance and audits.
5. Payroll & Expense Management
Coordinate with Admin to prepare monthly payroll, reimbursement sheets, and related compliance. Maintain employee advances and loan accounts. Prepare MIS reports on monthly expenses, cost centers, and profitability.
6. Financial Reporting
Prepare P&L statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. Assist management in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis. Present monthly MIS to the management team.
Qualifications & Skills
Education: B.Com / M.Com / MBA (Finance) / Inter CA preferred. Experience: 47 years in accounting or finance, preferably in a healthcare, diagnostics, or service-based company. Software Proficiency: Tally Prime, Excel (advanced), and knowledge of accounting CRMs or ERP systems. Knowledge: GST, TDS, and statutory compliance in Maharashtra. Skills: Strong analytical and numerical ability. Excellent organizational and multitasking skills. Attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to work under tight timelines. Team coordination and reporting skills.
