Job Details:

You will be an experienced senior SQL Server DBA, who has solid experience managing MS SQL enterprise clusters. This includes designing new solutions, the maintenance of existing solutions, performance tuning and maintaining maximum availability. Educating and mentoring less skilled team members should come naturally.

Responsibilities:

• Managing and maintaining all Production, Staging, and Development Databases in Virtual and Cloud environments.
• Collaborating with the infrastructure team to ensure performance and optimization of MS SQL Server environments;
• Applying MS SQL patches and upgrades on a regular basis and upgrading administrative tools and utilities;
• Planning, designing, provisioning and configurating database systems to meet business needs and requests;
• Investigating, troubleshooting, and providing mentoring for escalated issues;
• Responding to outages immediately, coordinating and communicating with impacted users or entities until resolution;
• Microsoft SSRS and SSIS Administration.
• Performing ongoing database performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required;
• Maintaining security of Microsoft SQL Databases in line with company security policies;
• Developing project plans, and successfully working with a team to execute database solutions for various projects and operational needs;
• Administration, capacity planning, engineering/design, system monitoring, and performance optimization;
• Maintaining database documentation for operational, configuration, or other procedural purposes;
• Researching and recommending innovative, and where possible, automated approaches for database systems;
• Identifying the impact of database designs on existing and future systems.
• Supporting existing enterprise solutions as a 3rd level support engineer.

Requirements:

• 3+ years of experience as a SQL DBA or similar;
• Experience supporting SQL Server 2008 - SQL Server 2019 versions;
• Expert knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server and its features, including all MS supported versions;
• Excellent problem-solving skills and proficiency in query languages and performance tuning;
• Ability to document database designs, processes, data flow diagrams and data conversion specifications;
• Experience with Always On Multi Subnet environments for HA DR (SQL Server 2016 and newer);
• Experience with large transactional databases that are 24x7;
• Very good knowledge of T-SQL;
• Fluent knowledge of English;
• Proven communication and organizational skills;
• Driven, focused self-starter with a team-based attitude;
• Expertise in problem solving and the ability to efficiently debug a variety of problems during emergency situations;
• Patient, flexible attitude, ability to perform under pressure;
• A commitment to quality and a thorough approach to the work;
• Ability to work efficiently and accurately with minimal hands-on management

Nice To Have:

• Knowledge of PowerShell;
• Windows Server admin experience and knowledge;
• Understanding of Azure SQL Platform.
