Specialty Chemicals Specialist (Coatings)

As a Construction Coatings Development Lead, your role involves leading the development, formulation, and optimization of various construction coatings. Your key responsibilities include: - Formulating waterproofing coatings (acrylic, PU, epoxy, hybrid systems), protective and decorative coatings (cementitious, elastomeric, primers, sealers), floor coatings, and industrial protective coatings - Evaluating and selecting raw materials (polymers, additives, pigments, fillers) based on performance, cost-effectiveness, and sustainability criteria - Conducting application trials, performance testing, and benchmarking against industry standards - Troubleshooting coating performance issues during formulation scale-up and application at customer sites - Collaborating with cross-functional teams (Production, QC, Marketing, Sales) for product scale-up and commercialization - Supporting customers with on-site trials, technical presentations, and application guidance - Keeping abreast of market trends, standards, and regulatory requirements related to construction coatings - Preparing technical documentation, test reports, and contributing to patent/IP generation as applicable Additionally, you are expected to gain insights from market/field interactions to create a product pipeline.
