Job Description

The opportunity

This role provides coordination to site reliability efforts across the subdivision. This role also includes ensuring systems' reliability, driving automation of operational tasks, defining and tracking key performance indicators (KPIs), designing scalable systems, managing incidents, and collaborating with development teams to ensure software reliability and scalability.

Your key responsibilities

  • Coordinates cross-product chaos experimentation to proactively test system resilience and uncover reliability gaps.
  • Maintains the centralized incident response playbook for the subdivision, documenting standards for communication, escalation, and recovery during incidents. Aggregates and reports quantifiable availability data to senior leadership. Contributes to IT-wide inner source libraries for reliability engineering practices.
  • Facilitates blameless post-incident reviews for incidents involving more than one product family, identifying systemic issues and driving continuous improvement.
  • Remains informed of ongoing site reliability engineering activities across the subdivision and collaborates on shared learnings and best practices.
  • Communicates new reliability standards, tools, and frameworks across subdivisions to promote consistency and innovation.
  • Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
  • Drives automation of key operational tasks including deployments, monitoring, and scaling, reducing manual effort and operational risk.
  • Defines and tracks key performance indicators (KPIs) such as availability, latency, and error rates to assess and improve system health.
  • Partners with development teams to ensure software reliability and scalability. Provides input on architectural and code changes that affect operational performance.

To qualify for the role, you must have

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in site reliability engineering or a related discipline
  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Expertise in incident management, chaos engineering, performance metrics, and automation frameworks
  • Strong background in system monitoring, reliability tooling, and cross-functional stakeholder engagement
