Job Description

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Embedded Base Software -Specialist to oversee the development, integration, and validation of the Basic Software (BSW) stack as per AUTOSAR standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end delivery of AUTOSAR Basic Software modules (MCAL, OS, Diagnostics, Communication, Memory, etc.).
  • Drive BSW architecture design, configuration, and integration aligned with project and customer requirements.
  • Interface with internal application software teams, system engineering, and external customers to resolve BSW-related queries and issues.
  • Analyze, debug, and resolve complex BSW problems across multiple platforms and modules.
  • Review design and code to ensure compliance with AUTOSAR, ISO 26262, and ASPICE standards.
  • Plan and execute software integration activities for ECU projects.
  • Support system test, validation, and release teams during the full development cycle.
  • Guide and mentor junior engineers on AUTOSAR concepts, configuration workflows, tool usage, and best practices.
  • Conduct technical training sessions for internal teams to strengthen organizational knowledge on BSW architecture and development.
  • Collaborate with project managers to estimate efforts, define milestones, and track progress of deliverables.

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Strong expertise in AUTOSAR Basic Software stack: MCAL, OS, Diagnostics, Communication (CAN, LIN, Ethernet, FlexRay), Memory modules, and ECU Abstraction Layers.
  • Excellent programming skills in Embedded C/C++ and understanding of microcontroller architecture and peripheral handling.
  • Sound knowledge of RTOS concepts, interrupts, task scheduling, and hardware-software integration.
  • Proficiency with Vector tools such as DaVinci Configurator/Developer, CANape, CANoe, and CANalyzer.
  • Hands-on experience with debugging tools such as Trace32, and experience in troubleshooting low-level embedded issues.
  • In-depth understanding of automotive network protocols (CAN, LIN, Ethernet, FlexRay).
  • Familiarity with safety and quality standards like ISO 26262 (Functional Safety) and ASPICE.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and documentation skills.
  • Proven ability to lead technical discussions and guide teams through complex BSW integration tasks.

Qualification

  • BE/B.Tech in Electronics, Electrical, Instrumentation, or Computer Science.
  • 6 to 10 years of experience in automotive embedded software development with a focus on AUTOSAR BSW.
  • Prior experience in mentoring or leading a small development team is highly desirable.

Preferred Attributes

  • Exposure to multi-core microcontrollers and Adaptive AUTOSAR is an advantage.
  • Understanding of configuration management tools such as Git, SVN, or PTC Integrity.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
