Specialist, Application Support

As a Specialist, Application Support at Fiserv, you will invest time in understanding the application behavior and gaining a deeper understanding of all application logging. You will closely collaborate with Subject Matter Experts to document known errors, categorize business failures and system failures, and create a framework for monitoring and alerting. Your role will involve looking for enhancement opportunities in Splunk Knowledge objects, researching client impacting incidents, and evaluating Splunk knowledge objects for gap analysis. Additionally, you will engage with Deployment and Development teams to comprehend new features introduced to applications. In this position, you will be required to be a quick learner, understanding all alerts and monitoring within the first 60 days. You will work across all shifts to grasp application behaviors during business and non-business hours. Your responsibilities will include creating complex Splunk dashboards, extensively using regex, and continuously improving dashboards and alerts based on monitoring findings. You will also be expected to optimize dashboards and alerts using new features in Splunk and work on other enterprise APM tools like ServiceNow, Dynatrace, AppDynamics, Autosys, SFG, etc. Moreover, you will need to be part of a 24*7 team and work in rotation across all shifts. To excel in this role, you should possess a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Technology, or equivalent experience. Extensive knowledge of Splunk, experience in a monitoring team, ability to work under pressure, understanding of .net technologies, exposure to enterprise monitoring tools, strong communication skills, analytical and problem-solving abilities, good task prioritization, commitment to completion, teamwork, customer service orientation, ability to track progress, and effective presentation skills are essential.
