Roles and Responsibilities

As a Special Educator, you will:

• Assess developmental, cognitive, language, and educational needs

  of children and individuals with hearing impairment.

• Identify learning challenges and strengths

  through standardized tools and informal observation.

• Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)

  specifically tailored for children with hearing loss.

• Set academic and communication goals

  in close coordination with audiologists and speech therapists.

• Facilitate language development

  using a variety of visual, auditory, and tactile methods.

• Reinforce speech and auditory training techniques

  in collaboration with the speech therapist during educational sessions.

• Educate and counsel parents

  about hearing impairment, learning needs, and effective home-based strategies.

• Involve families in goal setting and progress monitoring

  , fostering a collaborative support system.

• Prepare children with hearing impairment for mainstream or special school environments

  , ensuring a smooth transition.

• Support academic skills

  like reading, writing, and numeracy using tailored teaching techniques.

• Work closely with audiologists and speech-language pathologists

  to ensure consistent and integrated therapy plans.

• Track and document progress

  meticulously toward IEP goals.

• Update reports

  for caregivers, audiologists, and other involved professionals.

• Address behavioral issues

  that may arise due to communication challenges, implementing supportive strategies.

• Encourage peer interaction and social skill development

  among children.

• Conduct awareness programs and parent training sessions

  to empower families and the community.

• Assist in community outreach or school collaboration activities

  when required.

• Maintain educational materials, visual aids, and assistive learning tools

  , ensuring they are accessible and in good condition.

• Recommend specialized learning aids

  based on individual needs to optimize learning outcomes.

  LOKEPUR BHAKAT PARA MAHABIR CLUB, NEAR TO APOLLO PHARMACY, Bankura, WEST BENGAL - 722102.

• Timings:

  10 AM to 7 PM.
