Job Title: Special Educator *Candidates Females only Location : Mazgaon & Mahalaxmi, Mumbai. For more information visit www.balashatrust.org About the Program Bal Asha Child Development Centre, located in Mazgaon, Mumbai, has become an essential pillar of support for families caring for children with disabilities in nine years since its establishment. Our centre provides affordable and even free therapies for destitute and orphan children, which include comprehensive paediatric assessments and therapies to promote the child's health and reduce the family's financial burden. We work with children diagnosed with Learning Disability, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Cerebral Palsy, Behaviour Concerns, Down Syndrome, Neurological issues, Fine Motor, Gross Motor Delay, Mild Motor Delay, Attention Deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), Global Developmental delay, Speech and Language Delay Our professional team focuses on the childs holistic growth by providing: Individualized therapy and intervention plans Training and counselling for parents and caregivers Support for children with developmental delays to ensure quality care and inclusion Job Description: Provide one-on-one and small group remediation therapy to children with neurodivergent disorders, language barrier, learning difficulties and slow learners. Set clear remedial teaching goals and objectives for each child and update the therapy sheet regularly. Maintain detailed documentation of assessments, lesson plans, progress reports, and therapy updates. Write and maintain confidential children case notes and reports. Liaison with parents and therapists regarding a child's academic progress and behaviour. Provide informal counselling to parents. Provide study skills and counselling to deal with academic difficulties. Provide a home programme. Coordinating with school teachers and school counsellors, therapists and parents for better academic progress in school. Submitting Progress Reports to the developmental paediatrician of the centre and the school counsellors. Identify obstacles preventing children from adequate growth and adjust learning plans accordingly. Preparing, implementing and reviewing Individualized Education Programs for all remedial areas in academics. Conduct workshops and awareness sessions on remedial education and intervention strategies. Inculcating learning strategies to cope with deficit academic areas through remedial education. Stay updated with special education regulations and best practices. Educational Qualification, Skills and Experience RCI registered Special Educator required 1-3 years Special Educator experience is desirable B.ed with Special Education. Understanding of Learning Difficulties disorders and treatments. Strong interpersonal and communication skills Ability to comply with all regulatory standards Familiarity with computer related work.
