Spark & Scala Developer

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain
data processing pipelines
using
Apache Spark
and
Scala
.
Apply
functional programming principles
for clean, efficient, and maintainable code.
Build
reactive and distributed applications
using
Akka
or
Play Framework
.
Optimize Spark jobs for
performance and scalability
in large data environments.
Collaborate with
data engineers
,
architects
, and
product teams
to deliver robust solutions.
Integrate with
data lakes
,
streaming platforms
(Kafka), and
cloud services
.
Implement
unit tests
, perform
code reviews
, and follow best practices in software development.

Required Skills:

Strong proficiency in
Scala
and
functional programming concepts
.
Hands-on experience with
Apache Spark
(Core, SQL, Streaming).
Experience with
Akka
(actors, streams) or
Play Framework
for reactive applications.
Knowledge of
distributed systems
,
concurrency
, and
microservices architecture
.
Proficiency in
SQL
,
NoSQL databases
, and
data modeling
.
Familiarity with
CI/CD pipelines
,
Git
, and
cloud platforms
(AWS, Azure, GCP).

Preferred Skills:

Experience with
Databricks
and
Delta Lake

Knowledge of
Kafka

Airflow
, or other orchestration tools.
Exposure to
containerization
(Docker, Kubernetes).
