Key Responsibilities:
1. Spare Parts Forecasting & Demand Planning • Analyse historical consumption, service call volumes, device failure rates, and product lifecycle data to forecast spare part demand. • Monitor new product launches and plan parts availability in advance. • Plan for high-turnover and fast-moving items (e.g., displays, batteries) as well as critical low-volume parts. • Adjust forecasts dynamically based on seasonality, service campaigns, or market trends.
2. Inventory Management • Maintain healthy stock levels across regional service centers and central hubs. • Monitor slow-moving, non-moving, and obsolete inventory and take proactive actions (e.g., reallocation, liquidation). • Ensure availability of critical spare parts for in-warranty and out-of-warranty repairs. • Implement min-max stock levels, reorder points, and safety stock for different SKUs. • Conduct monthly and quarterly cycle counts to ensure physical vs. system accuracy.
3. Procurement Coordination • Place spare part purchase requisitions based on forecast and consumption. • Coordinate with Head Quarter team to procure Materials. • Monitor supplier lead times and manage part ETAs to avoid stockouts or delays in service delivery. • Follow up on open purchase orders and update internal stakeholders on expected arrivals.
4. Service Network Support • Liaise with service center managers and technicians to understand real-time needs, fast-moving parts, and pain points. • Allocate spare parts across locations based on repair volumes and urgency. • Support service campaigns, product recalls, or bulk repair projects by ensuring timely parts availability. • Respond quickly to urgent part requests or escalations from service teams.
5. Data Analysis & Reporting • Track and analyse key metrics such as fill rate, parts availability, inventory turnover, excess stock, and scrap rates. • Prepare weekly/monthly reports for management review. • Analyse warranty repair trends and failure patterns to optimize stocking strategies. • Monitor repair turnaround times (TAT) and relate them to parts availability performance.
6. Product Lifecycle & Obsolescence Planning • Monitor the lifecycle of each device model to manage phase-in/phase-out planning for associated spare parts. • Plan for Last-Time Buy (LTB) of parts nearing obsolescence. • Coordinate reverse logistics for unused or faulty parts, including return to vendor (RTV) or scrapping as per policy.
7. Cross-Functional Collaboration Work closely with the following teams: o Head Quarter: For timely procurement of Parts. o Factory & Warehouse Team: Timely processing of Orders o Logistics: To coordinate inbound shipments and internal transfers. o Import Team For timely clearance of Shipments in Customs o Operation To Give timely update for end-of-life products in advance
Qualifications & Skills: Education: • Bachelors degree in supply chain management or business administration, or related field. Experience: • 2–5 years of experience in spare parts planning, preferably in the mobile device or consumer electronics industry.
Technical Skills: • Proficiency in ERP and inventory systems. • Advanced Excel skills for data analysis (VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, pivot tables, charts). • Experience with demand forecasting tools or modules is a plus. Soft Skills: • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. • High attention to detail and organizational skills. • Excellent communication and coordination skills across teams. • Ability to work under pressure and respond quickly to changing demands.
