Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated and skilled Sous Chef to join our small kitchen for the upcoming season. You will work closely with the Head Chef, contributing to the creation of fresh, healthy, and beautifully presented meals with a focus on vegetarian, vegan, Ayurvedic, and gluten-free cuisine. This is a hands-on role for someone who loves healthy, fresh, plant-based cuisine and enjoys working in a creative, mindful environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Head Chef in daily kitchen operations, from preparation to plating, form breakfast to dinner.
  • Support in preparing high-quality Indian & international vegetarian, vegan, Ayurvedic, and gluten-free dishes using fresh, local, seasonal ingredients.
  • Support bakery and pastry preparation, including gluten-free options.
  • Maintain excellent hygiene, food safety standards, and kitchen organisation.
  • Step in to lead the kitchen when required.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a cook, sous chef, or bakery chef in professional kitchens (vegetarian/healthy cuisine preferred).
  • Culinary education or equivalent professional training.
  • Good knowledge of Indian, Continental, and Fusion cuisines.
  • Strong skills in vegetarian cooking and basic bakery/pastry techniques.
  • Strong knowledge of herbs and spices.
  • Knowledge of Vegan, Gluten-free, Ayurvedic, Sattvic food will be considered a strong asset.
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure.
  • Good communication skills and a positive, team-oriented attitude.
  • Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards.
  • Full English Profinciency.
  • Organised, reliable, and a good team player.

Job details:

  • Full-day shift (breakfast to dinner) with 2 hours daily rest time.
  • 6 days/week.
  • Seasonal contract: October to April.
  • Peaceful work setting in a nature & wellness-oriented retreat.

Salary and Perks

15,000 – ₹25,000 per month (depending on experience & skills).

Accommodation allowance, three meals daily, insurance, and paid sick leave.
