The Solutions Architect is responsible for defining and communicating a shared technical and architectural vision for complex cloud-based solutions that use SAP technology on Azure and AWS. Also is accountable for defining and communicating a clear, practical architectural vision for complex solutions that span large-scale IT systems and cyber-physical engineered systems. You will design scalable, secure, and maintainable architectures that align to business goals, guide development teams, and ensure successful integration with existing landscapes. This role works closely with Agile teams, Product Managers, Enterprise Architects, and stakeholders to convert business needs into viable technical solutions.
- Solution Design: Design comprehensive, technically sound solutions that address complex business problems. Consider functionality, scalability, performance, security, cost, and operability.
- Architectural Vision: Create and clearly communicate an architectural vision and blueprint that guides development throughout the project lifecycle.
- Technical Leadership: Provide hands-on technical leadership and guidance to development, configuration and operations teams; make and defend technical decisions aligned to architectural principles.
- Collaboration: Work closely with Agile teams, Product Managers, Enterprise Architects, Business Owners and other stakeholders to ensure solutions meet business needs and adhere to architecture standards.
- Alignment with Business Goals: Ensure designs support organizational strategy and measurable business outcomes.
- System Integration: Design robust integration patterns for SAP landscapes and third-party systems across Azure and AWS, ensuring reliable data flow and interoperability (APIs, messaging, ETL, SAP connectors, SAP Cloud Platform Integration/CPI, etc.).
- Component Reusability: Identify and promote reusable components and reference architectures to reduce time-to-market and increase consistency.
- Risk Management: Proactively identify technical risks, dependencies and constraints; propose mitigation and contingency strategies.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure architecture enables delivery of high-quality software focusing on performance, security, resilience, and maintainability.
- Scalability & Flexibility: Architect for scale (compute, storage, network) and flexibility to accommodate evolving business needs.
- Technology Evaluation: Evaluate and select frameworks, cloud services (PaaS/IaaS), middleware, and tools that align with solution requirements and enterprise guidelines.
- Continuous Learning: Keep current with cloud, SAP and integration trends and propose improvements.
- Documentation: Produce and maintain clear architectural artifacts: solution diagrams, interface contracts, non-functional requirements, runbooks, and decision logs.
- Performance Optimization: Identify bottlenecks and optimization opportunities; propose improvements for cost and performance.
- Cross-Team Coordination: Coordinate with other Solution Architects to ensure consistency across programs and adherence to enterprise architecture.
- Backlog Management: Support technical assessment and shape new initiatives launched by Business Owners and Strategic Product Managers; assist in backlog prioritization from a technical perspective.
- 10+ years of experience in IT/technology experience with at least 5+ years of product development and 3+ years as Solution Architect in telecom domain.
- Experience architecting SAP solutions (S/4HANA, ECC migrations, SAP PI/PO or SAP CPI/Integration Suite, SAP Fiori/UI5, SAP Basis concepts) integrated with cloud platforms.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) preferred.
- Strong integration expertise (API strategy, message brokers, event-driven architecture, middleware, ETL).
- Infrastructure as Code experience (Terraform, ARM templates, CloudFormation) and CI/CD pipelines.
- Security-first mindset: knowledge of cloud security controls, identity federation (Azure AD, IAM roles, SSO), encryption, and compliance frameworks.
- Performance engineering and cost optimization experience for cloud workloads.
- Excellent communication skills: able to translate technical strategy to non-technical stakeholders and produce clear architecture documentation.
- Experience working in Agile and DevOps environments and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Strong problem-solving, stakeholder management and decision-making skills.
- Demonstrated ability to define and communicate architecture across multiple stakeholders and teams.
- Adaptive to working remotely with teams.
