Software Validation Engineer

THE ROLE:

We are looking for a dynamic, energetic Software Systems Design Engineer to join our growing team. As a key contributor to the success of AMD's products, you will be part of a leading team to drive and improve AMD's abilities to deliver the highest quality, industry-leading technologies to market. The Software Systems Design Engineering team fosters and encourages continuous technical innovation to showcase successes as well as facilitate continuous career development.

THE PERSON:

As a Software Systems Design Engineer, you will deliver our next generation of products in the computer graphics industry - 3D Gaming, Display Technologies, Compute, Virtual Reality, etc. In this high visibility position, your systems engineering expertise will be necessary to define products, develop solutions, assess root causes, and produce solution resolutions.As a senior member of the team, taking initiativeinmentoring toachieve the team's goal of on time delivery is expected.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Validate Profilers for functionality and cross-platform compatibility on FreeBSD and Linux on AMD Processors.
  • Design and Implement comprehensive test plans, cases, and automation scripts for application validation.
  • Conduct functional, integration, and regression testing across multiple OS environments.
  • Analyze FreeBSD internals, kernel behavior, and system-level interactions during validation.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues using system logs, debugging tools, and performance monitoring utilities.
  • Collaborate with development teams to address defects and enhance application quality.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Hands-on experience validating system-level tools (profilers, debuggers, analyzers)
  • Proficiency and hands-on experince in FreeBSD and Linux environments
  • Good knowledge and hands on experience in PC (Personal Computer) configurations (both Software and Hardware) with methods of Troubleshooting.
  • Programming/scripting skills (e.g., C/C++, Perl, Ruby, Python).
  • Knowledge of system architecture, technical debug, and validation strategies.
  • Detailed oriented ability to multitask through planning/organizing.
  • Good knowledge of the product development lifecycle and system test process and exposure to SDLC
  • Excellent Communication and Presentation skills.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • Bachelors or master's degree in Electronics or Computer engineering
