Software Test Engineer

Cabot is seeking an individual to join its Quality Assurance team. As a valued member of the team, you will actively participate in testing our software products to ensure high product quality. It is essential that you possess a solid understanding of software development life cycles and are well-versed in test tools. Your responsibilities will include developing and executing Software Test Plans for Web and Smartphone applications (iPhone, Android, Windows Mobile) to deliver high-quality products within set timelines. You will be tasked with planning test schedules/strategies based on project scope and delivery dates, creating/maintaining databases of known test defects, designing test plans/scenarios/procedures, and ensuring adherence to standards for determining product quality and release readiness. In addition, you will be responsible for conducting various types of application testing (e.g., usability, system, regression, load, acceptance), documenting software defects using a bug tracking system, reporting defects to software developers, monitoring bug resolution efforts, tracking successes, and documenting test procedures to ensure replicability and compliance with standards. You will need to identify, analyze, and document problems related to program function, output, online screens, or content, as well as review software documentation for accuracy, compliance, completeness, and risk mitigation. Applicants for this position should have over a year of testing experience with exposure to automated testing, proficiency in Selenium, experience testing Smartphone Applications (preferred), end-to-end application testing skills, familiarity with working in an agile environment, strong data analysis, data verification, problem-solving abilities, proactive research skills related to web and mobile technologies, ability to prioritize and execute tasks effectively under pressure, and good communication skills.
