Software Test Engineer QA

Role Overview: As a Software Test Engineer at WCS India, you will be responsible for evaluating software functions by designing test protocols and test automation. Your role will involve collaborating closely with the DevOps team to ensure the infrastructure for testing is in place. You will also provide guidance to software engineers on expanding unit testing coverage and be knowledgeable in Test Driven Development. Key Responsibilities: - Lead the testing environment by creating automated testing programs to eliminate manual testing and ensure release quality. - Design and implement improvements to test automation infrastructures to enhance reliability, scalability, performance, and repeatability of setup and deployment. - Validate necessary tools and test plans for conducting software testing. - Provide detailed configuration, reproduction steps, and descriptions for defect tracking. - Automate test scripts based on manual test cases following the page object model and a data-driven approach. - Provide accurate estimates during grooming sessions and prioritize workload based on business needs. - Perform manual testing when required and file bug reports according to QA practices. - Collaborate with multiple teams including Software Development, Product team, DevOps, and UI. - Create testing tools to accelerate the testing process and maintain a high level of detail orientation. - Update test scripts promptly when a production issue is found. Qualifications Required: - 5+ years of hands-on experience in Java/ Python/ Ruby or another scripting or programming language. - Experience working in a Test-Driven Development environment. - Proficiency with Selenium and Appium. - Knowledge of configuration management, defect tracking, test plans, test protocols, and test execution. - Strong understanding of Docker and CI/CD pipelines. - Experience with source control management tools. - Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to produce clear documentation. - Self-motivated with the ability to learn quickly and work independently within a team.
