Job Description

As a Systems Engineer specializing in Software License Management - CMDB L2, you will be joining our team with over 4 years of experience in the field. Your responsibilities will revolve around ensuring software license compliance, maintaining accurate data in the Configuration Management Database (CMDB), and supporting operational processes related to software assets. Your primary role will involve managing software license compliance by tracking, monitoring, and managing software licenses across the organization. You will work on maintaining accurate records in the Software Asset Management (SAM) tool, supporting audits, identifying cost-saving opportunities through license optimization, and collaborating with procurement teams for renewals and acquisitions. Additionally, you will be responsible for the administration of the CMDB by ensuring data accuracy and integrity, performing regular updates on Configuration Items (CIs), supporting integrations with other IT tools, and enforcing CMDB data governance policies and configuration management standards. In terms of operational support, you will provide Level 2 support for software license and CMDB-related incidents and requests, investigate and resolve issues, and develop documentation for processes and workflows related to Software License Management (SLM) and CMDB. Collaboration and stakeholder engagement will be crucial as you work with IT, procurement, and vendor management teams to align on software usage and license compliance, coordinate with IT operations and change management teams for CMDB updates during deployments, and provide training to teams on software license and CMDB processes. Your technical skills should include knowledge of software license management processes and tools such as Flexera, Snow, ServiceNow SAM, hands-on experience with CMDB platforms like ServiceNow CMDB, understanding of major software licensing models for vendors like Microsoft, Adobe, Oracle, and proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools like Excel and Power BI. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities, attention to detail, and a commitment to data accuracy are essential soft skills required for this role.
