Description
As a Drone Manufacturing & Software Integration Engineer at our company, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and integrating UAV hardware and software systems for industrial and safety applications. **Key Responsibilities:** - Design and assemble drones (multirotor, fixed-wing, hybrid) for industrial/safety applications. - Work on propulsion systems, aerodynamics, flight stability, and endurance optimization. - Perform prototype testing, field trials, and compliance with aviation regulations (DGCA/FAA). - Develop and integrate flight control systems (Pixhawk, ArduPilot, PX4, DJI SDK). - Program onboard processors for autonomous navigation, obstacle avoidance, and data acquisition. - Integrate drones with IoT platforms, cloud dashboards, and AI-based safety analytics. - Work with communication protocols (LoRa, 4G/5G, RF, Wi-Fi, Satellite) for real-time telemetry. - Develop ground control interfaces (mobile/desktop apps) for drone operation and safety monitoring. - Customize drone solutions for safety inspections, accident investigations, and hazardous area monitoring. - Deploy drones for scaffolding inspection, confined space monitoring, and environmental safety audits. - Support integration with existing EHS management software (incident reporting, risk analytics). **Required Skills & Qualifications:** - Bachelors/Masters degree in Mechatronics, Robotics, Aerospace, Computer Science, or related field. - 2 to 6 years of experience in drone/UAV development and software integration. - Strong knowledge of embedded programming (C/C++/Python). - Hands-on experience with flight controllers, autopilot systems (PX4, ArduPilot, DJI SDKs). - Familiarity with CAD/CAE tools for drone design (SolidWorks, CATIA, ANSYS). - Knowledge of IoT communication protocols (MQTT, REST APIs) and cloud integration (AWS/Azure/GCP). - Proficiency in computer vision, SLAM, AI/ML (OpenCV, ROS, TensorFlow, PyTorch). - Understanding of aviation safety, DGCA/FAA compliance, and drone certification requirements. **Preferred Qualifications:** - Experience with drone swarming, BVLOS (Beyond Visual Line of Sight), and autonomous missions. - Knowledge of AI-powered aerial analytics (defect detection, thermal mapping, safety risk assessment). - Familiarity with edge AI frameworks (NVIDIA Jetson, Raspberry Pi, Intel Movidius). - Prior experience in industrial inspection, construction monitoring, or emergency response drones. In addition to the above, you are expected to possess strong problem-solving skills, an innovation mindset, the ability to work in cross-disciplinary teams, effective communication, and documentation skills.
