Software Engineer (Java) - Intermediate

As a software engineer at Equifax, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of meaningful projects with a team of talented engineers using leading-edge technology. Your role will involve: - Performing general application development activities, such as unit testing, code deployment, and technical documentation. - Contributing to unfamiliar code written by team members on one or more projects. - Diagnosing and resolving performance issues. - Participating in estimation processes, use case specifications, test plan reviews, and project planning. - Documenting code and processes for easy understanding by other developers. - Developing and operating high-scale applications from backend to UI layer with a focus on operational excellence, security, and scalability. - Implementing modern software development practices like serverless computing, microservices architecture, CI/CD, and infrastructure-as-code. - Integrating systems with existing internal systems, Data Fabric, and CSA Toolset. - Participating in technology roadmap and architecture discussions to realize business requirements. - Working in an agile software development environment within a tight-knit engineering team. - Troubleshooting and resolving product or system issues by analyzing the sources of issues. Qualifications required: - Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. - 2+ years of experience in software design and development of Java-based applications. - 2+ years of experience with software build management tools like Maven or Gradle. - 2+ years of experience working with Java programming, SQL/NoSQL databases. - Proficiency in continuous integration and continuous delivery practices. - Experience with Cloud technology, preferably GCP, AWS, or Azure. - Strong problem-solving skills with large, complex datasets.
