Software Engineer- JAVA API Developer

As a Java Developer at CGI, you will have the opportunity to design and develop applications using the latest Java concepts in Spring Boot. Your key responsibilities will include: - Working with API developers across teams to build new API features at a large scale. - Improving API standards and services. - Reviewing design documents and providing feedback on approach and estimates. - Providing technical expertise in the design, development, coding, testing, and debugging of software. - Ensuring that software meets or exceeds specified standards and end-user requirements. - Completing complex development, design, implementation, architecture design specification, and maintenance activities. - Approving technical solutions proposed by team members and escalating complex technical issues to IT experts, including architects. - Recommending development options, including design, build, and test. - Resolving technical problems discovered by the team and internal clients in a timely manner, researching issues, and performing root cause analysis. - Coding, testing, debugging, documenting, and implementing complex software applications. Qualifications required for this role: - 5+ years of experience developing enterprise applications using Java. - 3+ years of experience in Rest API development and maintenance using Spring Boot. - Knowledge and experience with Java (API Dev), SpringBoot, Microservices, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), CI/CD, and DevOps tools such as GitHub/GitLab, Jenkins. - Knowledge of OpenShift and Kafta will be a plus. - Experience working in Agile and/or Scrum development. - Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking skills. - Ability to manage workload, multiple priorities, and conflicts with customers/employees/managers. - Excellent oral and written communication skills.
