Software Engineer II

• Implement assigned medium-sized features and application modules based on established design specifications and clear acceptance criteria.
• Write clean, we'll-tested, and we'll-documented code primarily in TypeScript and Node.js.
• Independently diagnose and resolve production bugs and contribute to the maintenance of existing backend services.
• Work with senior engineers to implement and update REST/GraphQL API endpoints.
• Perform data modeling and query optimization in MongoDB and implement caching solutions using Redis.
• Actively participate in code reviews, focusing on learning team standards and providing constructive feedback on peers code.
• Assist with the containerization and deployment process using Docker and CI/CD tools.
• Focus on building a deep working knowledge of one or more core services, and actively seek documentation and clarification on overall system architecture.

What You Bring

• 2 to 5 years of software engineering experience, with a B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent.
• 1+ years of hands-on experience building backend services, preferably in Node.js/TypeScript.
• Familiarity with modern backend frameworks (NestJS, Express, or Fastify).
• Working knowledge of relational or NoSQL databases (eg, MongoDB) and caching fundamentals (eg, Redis).
• Experience with basic API concepts (HTTP methods, status codes).
• Basic understanding of cloud environments (GCP or AWS), Docker, and CI/CD tools.
• A strong sense of ownership, eagerness to learn quickly, and excellent problem-solving skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with an ability to clearly articulate technical issues.
