Software Engineer IIOverview The VCN, Spend Controls & Alerts team is looking for a Software Development Engineer in Test to help achieve time-to-market, quality excellence, and higher customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate is passionate about the customer experience journey, highly motivated, intellectually curious, analytical, and possesses an entrepreneurial mindset. Unlike similar quality/testing roles in other organizations, a Quality Engineering position at MasterCard requires a hybrid role with knowledge and hands on software development and architecture skills to work closely with developers to build test automation, test infrastructure, and perform code analysis/review to enable development quality. The RoleYou will be responsible for programming, testing, implementation, documentation, maintenance and support of systems application software in adherence with MasterCard standards, processes and best practices. Responsibilities include the following: Develop high quality, secure, scalable software solutions based on technical requirements specifications and design artifacts within expected time and budgetResearch, create and evaluate technical solution alternatives for the business needs current and futurePerform feasibility studies, logic designs, detailed systems flowcharting, analysis of input-output flow, cost and time analysisWork with project team to meet scheduled due dates, while identifying emerging issues and recommending solutions.Document software programs per Software Development Best PracticesFollow MasterCard Quality Assurance and Quality Control processesContribute ideas to help ensure that required standards and processes are in place and actively look for opportunities to enhance standards and improve process efficiencySupport collection and reporting of project and software metricsAbout youExperience in the software engineering field Knowledge of common industry standard best programming practices.Thorough knowledge and understanding of Software Engineering Concepts and MethodologiesAbility to innovate and develop new approaches to complex design problemsExperience working in a dynamic and collaborative work environment and make independent decisionsAbility to learn and deploy new technologies as neededExperience in building scalable, maintainable applicationsAbility to multi-task and meet deadlinesExcellent verbal and written communicationExperience using the Agile MethodologyAbility to work with cross functional teamsDesired SkillsBachelor's degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent work experienceStrong experience working on Scalable, Multi-threaded Java applicationsExperience of developing applications using the Spring FrameworkExperience with RESTful APIs and JSON/SOAP based API with Java. Ability to debug server-side API calls, and contribute to the design of best-practice RESTful APIs Knowledge of Cloud Native Development such as Pivotal Cloud Foundry & AWSKnowledge of UNIX and shell scriptingExperience with Java performance testing and benchmarkingExperience in Database Design, strong knowledge of PL/SQL
