Snowflake Data Science Manager

About Opportunity:

Kasmo is seeking a skilled and forward-thinking Data Science Manager with deep expertise in Snowflake AI/ML technologies, including Snowflake Cortex, ML development tools, and Generative AI, to join our team in Hyderabad, India. As a key leader in our clients Data Science and Machine Learning team, you will leverage the full suite of Snowflake's AI/ML and Cortex capabilities to develop, deploy, and manage cutting-edge machine learning solutions and drive AI-powered business transformation.

Primary Roles & Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with business stakeholders, data engineers, and analysts to understand use cases and deliver scalable ML and AI solutions using Snowflake.
• Build and deploy machine learning models using Snowflake ML tools, including ML Functions, Snowpark ML Development, and ML Jobs.
• Harness the power of Snowflake Cortex, including:
• AISQL: Automatically generate and optimize SQL queries using natural language input.
• Snowflake Copilot: Collaboratively build and refine SQL queries with LLM-powered assistance.
• Document AI: Extract insights from unstructured documents such as PDFs and Word files.
• Cortex Fine-tuning: Customize LLMs for specific business or domain needs.
• Cortex Search: Implement AI-driven question-answering systems over document repositories.
• Cortex Analyst: Translate natural language into powerful, production-ready SQL.
• Use Snowflake ML Ops for managing the full ML lifecycle:
• Register and deploy models via Model Registry
• Leverage Feature Store and Datasets for consistent, reusable ML features and versioned data
• Run scalable training/inference pipelines using Container Runtime and manage compute environments within Snowflake Notebooks
• Ensure model robustness through ML Observability and Explainability tools and track end-to-end provenance with ML Lineage.
• Stay ahead of industry trends and Snowflake platform updates to introduce new capabilities and best practices to the team.

Required Skills

• Bachelors or masters degree in computer science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in Data Science or Machine Learning roles, with proven success delivering production ML models.
• Strong hands-on experience with Snowflake, especially its advanced AI/ML features and the Snowflake Cortex ecosystem.
• Proficiency in ML frameworks such as scikit-learn, XGBoost, or LightGBM via Snowpark ML or Snowflake's Python SDKs.
• Familiarity with building end-to-end ML pipelines, deploying models, and managing them through MLOps processes.
• Solid understanding of LLMs, GenAI tools, and how to apply them to real-world business problems.
• Experience working with large-scale structured and unstructured data.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills in a remote-first team environment.
