Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the SMT production process, including component placement, soldering, reflow, and inspection operations.
  • Develop and execute production plans, allocate manpower and resources, and ensure timely delivery of SMT assemblies as per customer demand.
  • Drive productivity improvement initiatives by minimizing downtime, optimizing line efficiency, and implementing lean manufacturing principles.
  • Establish and maintain stringent quality control systems to ensure compliance with product specifications and customer requirements.
  • Review and analyze process performance metrics, identify bottlenecks, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure adherence to ISO and industry standards.
  • Oversee preventive maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of SMT equipment to maintain operational reliability.
  • Stay updated with new SMT technologies, automation solutions, and best practices to enhance process capability.
  • Provide leadership, training, and performance feedback to production teams to ensure skill development and high employee engagement.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and vendors for sourcing components, materials, and equipment; evaluate supplier performance and negotiate contracts for cost-effectiveness and quality.
  • Implement Statistical Process Control (SPC) and data-driven decision-making for yield and quality improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of all production processes, work instructions, and specifications.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Electronics / Electrical Engineering.
  • 12+ years of experience in SMT production, with at least 3–5 years in a managerial or leadership role.
  • In-depth knowledge of SMT equipment (Pick & Place, Reflow, AOI, SPI, etc.) and process parameters.
  • Proven experience in process optimization, line balancing, and throughput improvement.
  • Strong understanding of ISO 9001 / IATF 16949 standards and quality management systems.
  • Excellent analytical, leadership, and decision-making abilities.
  • Strong vendor management and cross-functional coordination skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, ERP systems, and production reporting tools.
