Job Description: English Test Preparation Expert (Contract 2 Months)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced English Test Preparation Expert to design high-quality, structured, and learner-centric study material for SAT, TOEFL, GRE, and GMAT. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of exam formats, cognitive skill progression, and evidence-based learning design. You will develop granular learning modules that help students build foundational skills and advance to expert-level proficiency.

Key Responsibilities

1. Learning Material Development

Create comprehensive learning modules for SAT, TOEFL, GRE, and GMAT English sections (Reading, Writing, Verbal Reasoning, Analytical Writing where applicable).

Break down complex exam skills into granular, scaffolded micro-modules that support skill mastery.

Develop step-by-step concept explanations, examples, sample questions, and answer explanations.

Create practice sets aligned with official exam standards.

Ensure content follows best practices in pedagogy, cognitive load management, and learner engagement.

2. Curriculum & Module Structuring

Design a modular curriculum that moves learners from beginner intermediate advanced expert proficiency.

Build diagnostic and formative assessments to track skill progression.

Map each module to specific competencies test-takers need for high scores.

3. Quality Assurance

Review and revise content for clarity, accuracy, and pedagogical soundness.

Maintain a consistent tone, structure, and difficulty progression across materials.

Incorporate feedback from internal reviewers or academic leads.

Required Qualifications

Strong academic background in English, Linguistics, Education, or related field.

2–5+ years of experience teaching or preparing learners for SAT/TOEFL/GRE/GMAT.

Demonstrated track record of developing curriculum, learning materials, or assessment items.

Excellent command of English grammar, vocabulary, critical reasoning, and reading comprehension pedagogy.

Understanding of psychometrics and question-design principles is an advantage.

Desired Skills

Ability to segment skills into structured micro-lessons.

Strong writing, editing, and instructional design skills.

Familiarity with Bloom’s taxonomy and modern ed-tech learning models.

Experience working with diverse learner profiles.

Ability to deliver high-quality content within tight timelines.

Deliverables

Complete set of modular learning units for each exam assigned.

Practice questions, tests, and answer explanations.

Structured curriculum outline with learner flow.

Revision of materials based on feedback.
