The SME Electrical Engineering is a senior leadership role responsible for strategic oversight, operational excellence, and project execution across all Sun Pharma sites. This position ensures safe, reliable, and energy-efficient electrical systems while driving innovation, compliance, and sustainability initiatives. The role combines technical expertise, project management, and leadership to deliver world-class performance in electrical operations and energy management.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and implement

  electrical strategy

  for all sites ensuring reliability, safety, and compliance.
• Govern HT/LT distribution systems, substations, transformers, switchgear, UPS, DG, and earthing across sites.
• Drive

  standardization of electrical systems

  and maintenance practices across plants.
• Ensure uninterrupted power for critical Pharma operations at all locations.
• Establish

  predictive/preventive maintenance frameworks

  and monitor KPIs across sites via CMMS.
• Lead

  multi-site capex projects

  from design to commissioning; ensure timely, compliant delivery.
• Review and approve SLDs, protection coordination, and arc-flash studies for all sites.
• Implement

  Corporate Electrical safety programs

  : LOTO/PTW, arc-flash risk mitigation, and contractor safety.
• Ensure

  GxP/cGMP compliance

  for electrical systems impacting product quality across sites.
• Deploy

  energy management systems (EMS/EPMS)

  and drive ISO 50001 initiatives across plants.
• Deliver measurable

  energy savings and sustainability goals

  across the network.
• Manage vendor relationships and AMC contracts at a corporate level; enforce statutory compliance globally.
• Collaborate with

  site engineering heads, QA, EHS, and corporate leadership

  for alignment and governance.

Job Requirements

Educational Qualification

• Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering (mandatory)
• OR Master’s Degree or specialization in Power Systems / Energy Management (preferred)

Experience

• Minimum 18–25+ years of relevant experience, including 5+ years in leadership/project management.

• Expertise in power systems, substations, energy audits, and renewable energy projects.

• Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
