Site Supervisor

A Site In charge in an architecture company oversees daily on-site operations, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget according to architectural designs. Key responsibilities include supervising workers, conducting safety inspections, managing resources (materials, equipment, labour), and coordinating with architects, contractors, and clients to resolve issues and ensure quality standards are met. They also handle project documentation and reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Project supervision: Oversee daily construction activities, ensuring they align with architectural drawings and specifications.
• Team and resource management: Lead and manage site personnel, including labourers and subcontractors, and allocate resources like materials and equipment.
• Quality control: Implement quality control procedures to ensure work meets established standards and specifications.
• Safety and compliance: Conduct regular safety inspections, ensure compliance with all safety regulations and industry standards, and minimize risks.
• Coordination and communication: Act as the primary liaison between the client, architects, engineers, and contractors to facilitate efficient project execution.
• Problem-solving: Proactively identify and solve on-site issues and challenges to prevent delays.
• Documentation: Prepare and maintain accurate project documentation, including reports, schedules, and progress updates.
• Budget monitoring: Manage site budgets and monitor expenses to ensure cost control.
• Schedule management: Develop and maintain project schedules to ensure milestones are met.
• Education: A degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field is often required.
• Experience: Several years of experience in construction or architectural site engineering is necessary.
• Technical skills: Proficiency with software like AutoCAD, MS Office, and potentially Revit is crucial.
• Essential knowledge: A strong understanding of architectural and engineering plans, construction methods, building codes, and safety regulations is mandatory.
• Soft skills: Excellent communication, problem-solving, and project management skills are essential for success in this role.
