About the Role

National Payment Corporation of India is looking for a highly skilled Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) with a strong focus on Observability to join our team

Mandatory Required Skills and Experience:

• (Required) 4+ years of experience in a Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, or Observability-focused role.

• (Required)

  Strong experience with Prometheus, Grafana, and Open Telemetry for metrics, logging, and tracing.

• (Required)

  Deep understanding and hands on experience in Kubernetes internals and managing containerized workloads in production.

• (Required)

  Proven experience working with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, ArgoCD, etc.).

• (Required)

  Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Hands-on experience contributing to or leveraging open-source observability projects.
• Strong scripting skills in Bash, Python, or Go.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyse complex systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Strong in Design, build, and maintain observability stacks using Prometheus, Grafana, Open Telemetry, and related open-source tools

Ensure the availability, reliability, and performance of critical infrastructure and services.

Strong in Develop and optimize CI/CD pipelines to support faster and more reliable software delivery.

Work closely with development and infrastructure teams to ensure monitoring and alerting are in place for all production services.

Lead the integration of AIOps practices to proactively detect anomalies, reduce noise, and automate incident response using ML-based insights.

Define and track key SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets to drive reliability and system performance improvements.

Troubleshoot system outages and performance issues using observability data and root cause analysis.

Champion the adoption of open-source observability solutions and stay up to date with industry trends and tools.

Contribute to scaling and securing Kubernetes clusters in production environments.

Implement infrastructure-as-code and automation best practices.
