Site Reliability Engineer II

As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability of systems for one of the world's most iconic and largest financial institutions. You will have the opportunity to work on small to medium projects independently, starting with initial guidance and eventually progressing to designing and delivering projects on your own. Leveraging technology to solve business challenges, you will write high-quality, maintainable, and robust code following best practices in software engineering. Your responsibilities will also include participating in triaging, examining, diagnosing, and resolving incidents, collaborating with others to address root problems, and proactively working towards eliminating toil within your role through systems engineering or application code updates. You will have a strong understanding of observability patterns and will strive to implement and enhance service level indicators, objectives monitoring, and alerting solutions for optimal transparency and analysis. To excel in this role, you should have formal training or certification in software engineering concepts along with at least 2 years of applied experience. Proficiency in coding in at least one programming language is essential, as well as experience in maintaining a Cloud-based infrastructure and familiarity with site reliability concepts, principles, and practices. Experience in observability, including white and black box monitoring, service level objective alerting, and telemetry collection using tools such as Grafana, Dynatrace, Prometheus, Datadog, Splunk, among others, will be valuable. Additionally, familiarity with containers or common Server OS like Linux and Windows is required. Knowledge of software, applications, and technical processes within a specific technical discipline, continuous integration and continuous delivery tools, common networking technologies, and the ability to collaborate effectively in a large team are all key attributes for success in this role. Furthermore, you should be able to prioritize tasks effectively and adapt work plans to accommodate changes in assigned responsibilities and projects. Preferred qualifications include a general understanding of the financial services industry.
