Site Engineer (Civil)

Job Summary

We are looking for a Civil Site Engineer to oversee and manage earthwork activities across infrastructure and construction projects throughout Tamil Nadu. The role involves supervising excavation, filling, leveling, and compaction works, ensuring quality standards, and coordinating manpower and machinery at multiple sites.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise excavation, embankment, backfilling, and compaction works at site.
• Coordinate with surveyors for levels, alignments, and setting out.
• Oversee deployment of earthmoving equipment (excavators, dozers, graders, JCBs, dumpers, compactors).
• Conduct soil and compaction tests in line with MORTH / IS specifications.
• Monitor daily progress and prepare work reports for multiple sites.
• Ensure safety compliance and environmental protection during operations.
• Manage subcontractors, machinery operators, and local labor teams.
• Liaise with Project Manager/Client engineers regarding quality and timelines.
• Travel to different project sites within Tamil Nadu as required.

Requirements

• Diploma/B.E. in Civil Engineering.
• 2 years of experience in earthwork/site execution (roads, highways, irrigation, industrial layouts, or rail projects preferred).
• Knowledge of Tamil Nadu PWD norms, MORTH specifications, and IS standards.
• Ability to work across different districts of Tamil Nadu.
• Hands-on experience with survey instruments (Auto Level, Total Station).
• Strong site coordination, manpower handling, and reporting skills.
• Proficiency in Tamil for local labor communication; basic English/Hindi an advantage.
