Shopware Developer

We are seeking a skilled Shopware Developer to join our e-commerce development team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, customizing, and maintaining Shopware-based online stores. You should have a solid understanding of e-commerce, PHP frameworks, and be comfortable working with REST APIs and modern front-end technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop custom Shopware plugins and themes
• Customize existing Shopware functionalities as per business needs
• Integrate third-party services (e.g., payment gateways, shipping APIs)
• Optimize Shopware stores for performance and user experience
• Collaborate with front-end developers, designers, and project managers
• Perform regular updates, security patches, and version upgrades
• Troubleshoot and resolve bugs or performance issues
• Write clean, well-documented, and testable code
• Participate in code reviews and technical discussions

Requirements:

• Proven experience with Shopware 5 and/or Shopware 6
• Strong proficiency in PHP, MySQL, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript
• Experience with Symfony framework (Shopware 6 is Symfony-based)
• Familiarity with Twig templating and Doctrine ORM
• Knowledge of RESTful APIs and API integration
• Experience in using Git version control
• Understanding of e-commerce best practices
• Familiarity with Docker and Composer is a plus
• Basic understanding of SEO and performance optimization techniques

Nice to Have:

• Experience with headless commerce or PWA
• Exposure to front-end frameworks like Vue.js or React
• Knowledge of German (Shopware is German-originated software)

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
