Shopify Lead

Role Overview: At Codal, a leading web design and development consultancy, you will have the opportunity to work with innovative organizations globally and engage in cutting-edge technologies in the field of design and software development. Your role will involve collaborating with product and design teams to deliver working software solutions regularly. As a resident Shopify subject matter expert, you will play a crucial role in creating front-end user experiences, managing multiple projects, mentoring developers, and overseeing a team of platform developers. Additionally, your responsibilities will include architecting enterprise-grade websites, troubleshooting technical issues, staying updated on emerging technologies, and contributing to business-driven project features and functions. Key Responsibilities: - Act as a resident Shopify subject matter expert. - Collaborate with UX and UI design teams to innovate front-end user experiences. - Manage multiple projects simultaneously. - Build custom-tailored themes, alter pre-existing templates, and develop complex custom solutions. - Break down high-level tasks into manageable stories. - Mentor developers in best practices, conduct code reviews, and ensure high-quality work. - Oversee a team of platform developers and lead team meetings. - Work closely with Project Managers, Technical Leads, and clients to craft enterprise-grade websites. - Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues. - Stay updated on evolving technologies and integrate them into your work. - Understand and address business needs driving project features and functions. - Assist in the recruitment of future team members. Qualifications Required: Must have skills: - Profound knowledge of Shopify's platform architecture, Liquid framework, Storefront APIs, and GraphQL. - Familiarity with Shopify's server-to-server APIs. - Mobile app design and development expertise. - Ability to create technical documentation and communicate effectively with various stakeholders. - Experience overseeing a team of developers and providing constructive feedback. - Strong multilingual communication skills. Should have skills: - Expertise in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. - Strong understanding of e-commerce best practices and PCI compliance. - Proficiency in Git repo management and best practices. - Experience with Shopify Flow & Functions. Nice to have skills: - Knowledge of custom Shopify application development and Hydrogen. - Familiarity with front-end frameworks like React, Next, Vue, etc. - Understanding of server-side languages and 3rd party plugins. - Knowledge of Shopify-related tools: Shopify POS, Shopify Magic, and Shopify Polaris. - Working knowledge of Shopify CLI.
