Shift Manager Maintenance-Electrical

Purpose/Objective

The position is responsible for overseeing and ensuring the effective maintenance and smooth operation of electrical systems related to conveyor systems and FCC (Fully Cellular Container systems) in the port industry. This role focuses on minimizing equipment downtime, ensuring safety compliance, and maintaining the reliability of critical port infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities of Role

Electrical (Conveyor & FCC) Maintenance Oversight: Manage and oversee all maintenance activities for electrical systems related to conveyors and FCC during assigned shifts & ensure continuous and uninterrupted operation of port equipment through regular monitoring and quick response to breakdowns. Preventive & Corrective Maintenance: Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for electrical components of conveyor systems & conduct root cause analysis and ensure corrective measures are implemented for recurring electrical issues. Electrical System Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Supervise inspection and troubleshooting of electrical systems, including motors, control panels, power supply units, wiring & ensure timely resolution of faults, repairs, and replacements to avoid operational delays. Compliance & Safety: Ensure adherence to safety protocols and electrical standards during maintenance activities. Safety Audits: Conduct safety audits and enforce compliance with port industry regulations. Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment performance, and inventory usage. Provide shift-wise handover reports to ensure seamless continuity between shifts. Spare Parts & Inventory Management: Monitor inventory of critical spare parts and electrical components for conveyors and FCC. Coordinate with procurement teams to ensure timely availability of required materials. Energy Optimization: Identify opportunities to improve energy efficiency in electrical systems and recommend upgrades. Monitor energy consumption and implement measures to reduce wastage. Qualifications and Experience

Educational Qualification: Degree in Electrical / Electronics Engineering or a related field. Work Experience: 6–8 years of experience in electrical maintenance, preferably in the port or heavy industrial sector.
