Position Overview

We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Market Analyst who can conduct in-depth research and analysis on equity markets, mutual funds, and related investment instruments. The candidate will be responsible for evaluating market trends, executing purchase transactions for shares and mutual fund units, and providing detailed holding-period analyses to support investment decisions.

Key Responsibilities

Market Research & Analysis

• Conduct daily and periodic analysis of stock markets, mutual funds, and related financial instruments.
• Track market trends, sectoral performance, company financials, NAV movements, and economic indicators.
• Prepare analytical reports and market summaries for management review.
• Identify potential investment opportunities based on research insights.

Investment Execution

• Execute purchase orders for equities and mutual fund units as per approved investment strategies.
• Ensure timely and accurate processing of transactions through broker platforms or AMC portals.
• Maintain strict compliance with internal investment policies and regulatory guidelines.

Portfolio Monitoring & Reporting

• Track and update portfolio performance, including returns, diversification, and risk metrics.
• Perform holding period analysis, including:
• Holding period returns
• Short-term vs. long-term gains
• IRR/XIRR computations
• Tax implications
• Provide periodic investment performance reports to management.

Compliance & Documentation

• Maintain accurate records of trades, statements, contract notes, and portfolio summaries.
• Support audits and regulatory compliance requirements as needed.
• Ensure all investment documentation is up to date and properly archived.

Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Finance, Commerce, Economics, or related field (MBA/Finance preferred).
• Strong understanding of stock markets, mutual funds, and investment products.
• Hands-on experience using brokerage platforms, mutual fund portals, and analytical tools.
• Proficiency in Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, XIRR, etc.) and financial analysis.
• Excellent analytical, numerical, and reporting skills.
• Knowledge of SEBI guidelines, tax rules for capital gains, and KYC/transaction processes.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Experience

• 4-7 years of experience in equity research, portfolio management support, mutual fund analysis, or similar roles.
• Prior experience in executing trades and maintaining investment portfolios.
