Setter

To set up, adjust, and prepare heavy machinery (such as CNC, VMC, HMC, or conventional machines) for production of heavy mechanical components, ensuring quality standards, machine efficiency, and safety compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Set up and adjust heavy machine tools and production equipment (CNC, lathe, milling, boring, grinding, etc.) according to job specifications and drawings.
  
• Install and align fixtures, jigs, tools, and components to ensure accurate machining operations.
  
• Conduct initial test runs to verify setup accuracy and make necessary adjustments.
  
• Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and process sheets to determine setup requirements.
  
• Ensure machine readiness before production check lubrication, tool wear, coolant levels, and machine calibration.
  
• Collaborate with machine operators to hand over correctly set machines and explain operating parameters.
  
• Troubleshoot setup-related issues and report equipment malfunctions to maintenance or engineering teams.
  
• Maintain records of setup times, tooling used, and dimensional accuracy.
  
• Follow all safety guidelines and maintain a clean, organized work area.
  
• Support continuous improvement initiatives in setup reduction, tooling optimization, and quality enhancement.
  

Skills & Competencies:

• Strong knowledge of heavy machining equipment setup and operation.
• Basic understanding of CNC programming or parameter adjustments (Fanuc / Siemens / Heidenhain preferred).
  

Qualification & Experience:

• Education:

  ITI / Diploma in Mechanical / Production Engineering or equivalent.

• Experience:

  39 years of experience in machine setup for heavy engineering or automotive components.
• Experience in machining large castings, forgings, or heavy steel components preferred.
