The Opportunity

Are you an innovative automation engineer with a strong proficiency in Python, a knack for containerization using Docker, and a passion for DevOps practices? If so, you will find an exciting opportunity to join our hybrid team, where you can collaborate with cross-functional experts, leverage cutting-edge technologies, and make a tangible impact on the deployment and management of cloud infrastructure for our professional services team.

About the Team

The Services Automation Engineer will be joining the Professional Services team at Nutanix, based in Pune, India. This team is dedicated to delivering innovative cloud solutions and automating processes to enhance efficiency and scalability for clients. The culture within the team emphasizes collaboration, continuous improvement, and a commitment to excellence, ensuring that they stay at the forefront of technology. Their mission is to empower clients by providing top-notch automation solutions that streamline operations and optimize performance within their cloud environments.

You will report to the Director of Professional Services, who champions a supportive and empowering leadership style, encouraging team members to take ownership of their projects while fostering open communication and collaboration. The position is hybrid, requiring the new hire to be in the office three days a week, which allows for both in-person teamwork and the flexibility of remote work.

This role does not require any travel, allowing you to focus on building and optimizing automation solutions within a stable work environment. Enjoying a consistent schedule will enable you to concentrate fully on the tasks at hand while being part of a dynamic and innovative team.

Your Role

Design, develop, and maintain automation scripts and infrastructure as code (IaaC) frameworks for cloud infrastructure.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to automate cloud deployment and management tasks.
Implement DevOps and GitOps workflows for continuous integration and deployment.
Monitor and optimize application performance across hybrid cloud environments.
Develop scalable and secure applications using Python and the Django framework.
Utilize APIs to integrate and manage services on Nutanix and other cloud platforms.
Contribute to best practices in automation and cloud-native development through documentation.
Participate in team collaboration and contribute to a culture of shared knowledge and innovation.

What You Will Bring

Proficient in Python; experience with BASH, PowerShell, and Django framework.
Hands-on experience with AWS and familiarity with hybrid and Multicloud architectures.
Skilled in Docker and container orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines, GitOps workflows, and infrastructure as code (IaC).
Understanding of secure coding practices and scalable system design.
Proficiency in Git and GitHub/GitLab workflows.
Familiarity with automation tools like Ansible, Terraform, or similar.
Strong problem-solving skills with excellent communication abilities in collaborative environments.
