Service Reliability Engineer

As a Service Reliability Engineer at Ciena, you will have the opportunity to contribute significantly to the success of the organization. Reporting to the Application Development Manager, you will be an integral part of supporting, building, enhancing, and modernizing enterprise applications. Your role will involve collaborating closely with cross-functional teams across North America to deliver scalable, secure, and high-performance solutions. Key Responsibilities - Design, develop, and maintain Web and Windows applications utilizing .NET technologies. - Support the migration of legacy applications to Microsoft Azure cloud platforms. - Develop and maintain APIs, web services, and backend components. - Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver effective solutions. - Participate in Agile ceremonies and provide on-call support when necessary. The Must Haves - Education: Bachelors degree in Computer Science or a related field. - Experience: Minimum of 7 years of professional software development experience. - Technical Skills: - Proficiency in C#, .NET Core, VB.NET, Python, Angular, JavaScript, HTML, CSS. - Strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server, T-SQL, LINQ, and backend development. - Hands-on experience with Azure services (App Services, Functions, Containers, Storage). - Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, Git, GitHub, and TDD. - Experience with secure coding practices and SAST/DAST tools. Assets - Experience with SSIS, SSRS, and advanced SQL Server features. - Knowledge of front-end frameworks like Bootstrap and third-party tools such as Telerik, Kendo UI. - Exposure to Machine Learning technologies and AWS cloud services. - Familiarity with Hardware Security Modules (HSM) and FIPS compliance. - Azure Developer or DevOps Engineer certification.
