Description
As a Network and Firewall Operations & Engineering professional at UST in Trivandrum, your role involves defining and executing strategies aligned with business and IT objectives. Your key responsibilities include: - Overseeing the administration, configuration, and optimization of routers, switches, firewalls, cloud networking, and LAN/WAN architectures. - Demonstrating expert knowledge of Palo Alto and Checkpoint firewalls, implementing Zero Trust security models, and managing ISP routing, Internet security, and MPLS environments. - Deeply understanding Cisco and Meraki Wired & Wireless LAN, Cisco ACI, and DNAC solutions, as well as managing and optimizing Forescout NAC solutions for secure access control and endpoint compliance. - Supporting and integrating cloud-based networking solutions (Azure, AWS) with on-premises infrastructure. - Designing and maintaining redundant network architectures for high availability and disaster recovery. - Implementing network security controls, vulnerability management, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards (PCI-DSS, ISO 27001, GDPR, NIST). - Deploying and maintaining automation solutions using Python, Ansible, Terraform, and utilizing monitoring tools like LogicMonitor, NET, or Nagios for proactive issue resolution. - Leading the resolution of network and firewall-related incidents, performing root cause analysis (RCA), and driving continuous improvements. - Ensuring optimal network performance, bandwidth utilization, and traffic engineering. - Collaborating closely with security teams, application teams, cloud architects, and business leaders to support operations. - Evaluating and managing relationships with network hardware/software vendors and service providers. - Implementing ITIL best practices for incident, problem, and change management. - Optimizing network infrastructure costs while maintaining security and reliability. Skills required for this role include expertise in Palo Alto, Forescout, switching, and routing.
