Server

An experienced waiter is responsible for providing professional table service, managing guest orders from start to finish, and ensuring a smooth dining experience through excellent communication with guests, kitchen, and cashier teams.

Key responsibilities

Greet and seat guests warmly, present menus, and explain daily specials or promotions.

Take accurate food and beverage orders, enter them in the POS, and coordinate with the kitchen and bar for timely preparation.

Serve food and drinks in the correct sequence, check back with guests, and handle any complaints or requests professionally.

Guide guests on menu items, ingredients, portion sizes, spice levels, and allergen information; upsell add‑ons, desserts, and beverages.

Prepare tables before service (layout, cutlery, water, condiments) and maintain a clean, organised section throughout the shift.

Present bills, handle cash/card/UPI payments accurately, and ensure correct change or bill split as required.

Coordinate with other waiters and support staff to manage large groups, high‑rush periods, and online/dine‑in orders together.

Follow all food safety and hygiene standards, including proper handling of crockery, cutlery, and service equipment.

Skills and qualifications

Proven experience as a waiter or captain in a busy restaurant, cafe, or hotel.

Strong customer service mindset, with the ability to stay calm and polite during rush hours and difficult situations.

Good knowledge of menu items, common cuisines, and basic food and beverage terminology.

Familiarity with POS billing systems, basic math for bills, and handling different payment modes.

Excellent communication skills in Hindi/English/regional language and ability to work as part of a team.

Role is customer‑facing and requires proper grooming, uniform, and punctuality for every shift.
