Senior Transmission Engineer

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

• Extensive Working knowledge of AutoCAD 2D and 3D.
• 4+ years’ experience developing design drawings for transmission or distribution projects.
• Sound understanding of drafting standards and ability to Quality Control on own.
• Hands-on experience developing transmission line plan and profile drawings, transmission/distribution line hardware details, hardware assembly details, material lists, and grounding details.
• Experience creating master sketches to scale showing relation of proposed installations to existing facilities and exact specifications and dimensions.
• Ability to confer directly with engineering staff in interpreting input from a variety of sources, such as engineering specifications, PLS CADD & PLS POLE outputs, weight and volume calculations.
• Ability to visualize parts in 3D without the aid of the computer.
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
• Attention to detail.

Preferred skills:

• Familiarity with PLS-CADD & PLS-POLE software.
• Familiar with North American overhead power line industry standards.
