Senior Technical Writer

As the Technical Writer at Phenom People, you will play a crucial role in creating and maintaining high-quality technical documentation for our products. You will work closely with our Product team to understand the features and functionalities of our products and translate them into user-friendly and easy-to-understand documentation. You will also collaborate with our Engineering and QA teams to gather information and ensure accuracy and completeness of the documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

- Create and maintain technical documentation for our products, including user guides, release notes, API documentation, and other technical documents

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather information and ensure accuracy and completeness of the documentation

- Ensure that all documentation is written in a clear and concise manner, following our style and branding guidelines

- Continuously improve and update existing documentation based on user feedback and product updates

- Conducting usability testing to ensure that the documentation is effective.

- Work closely with the Product team to understand new features and functionalities and translate them into user-friendly documentation

- Plan, schedule, and track documentation work to meet product release dates and customer deliverables.

- Manage multiple documentation projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines

- Conduct research and gather information from various sources to ensure accuracy and completeness of the documentation

- Implement SEO and content optimization strategies to improve the visibility and accessibility of our documentation

- Mentor and train junior technical writers in the team

- Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in technical writing and implement them in our documentation process.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, or a related field

- Minimum of 6 years of experience in technical writing, preferably in the software/technology industry

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently

- Experience with Agile development methodologies

- Familiarity with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript

- Ability to understand complex technical concepts and translate them into user-friendly documentation

- Experience with creating user guides, release notes, API documentation, and other technical documents

- Knowledge of SEO and content optimization

- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment

- Should be aware of the DITA XML, Topic-based writing, and Organizational standard guidelines.

- Strong project management skills

- Experience with content management systems and version control tools

- A portfolio of previous technical writing work is a plus
