Your Team Impact
FactSets Funds Engineering team under DSE is focused on delivering Funds data (e.g., fund expense ratio, daily price & info data) coming from different sources by providing database solutions and automated processes which follow an Extract-Transform-Load (ETL) procedure. We develop & maintain an internal data collection application, Fast APIs to collect the required data. We also manage funds data distribution services, routinely increasing efficiency year over year through automation. We are looking for a candidate who is independent, driven, and has strong communication skills and technical knowledge, who will help the team contribute to the company s goals and help to provide our clients with the data they need to make informed decisions. A passionate senior software engineer with proficiency in development, deployment of software, code best practices, and code libraries
What you ll do
Experience in designing, developing, and deploying applications, ensuring they are scalable, efficient, and maintainable.
- Should be able to lead small-scale technical projects
- Provide technical support by completing enhancements and bug fixes of high complexity
- Code quality through code reviews, advocating coding standards, and identifying risks before code reviews.
- Should collaborate with stakeholders and the healthy technical discussions engineering team.
- Should adapt to new technologies and remove technical roadblocks
- Work in agile team environments, collaborating with internal teams
- Supplements technical decision-making skills with broader business knowledge
What We re Looking For
- 5-8 years of overall industry experience.
- Bachelor s or master s degree in computer science
- Proficiency in Python
- Experience with relational database (MySQL, MSSQL, or similar RDBMS)
- Experience with Cloud Technology, Amazon AWS, etc.
- Strong Communication and problem-solving skills.
- Flexible with time zones/shifts and a willingness to handle on-call responsibilities
- Experience with GitHub-based development processes
- Willingness to participate in rotating on-call duties for data services
- Organized, self-directed, and resourceful with the ability to appropriately prioritize work in a fast-paced environment
Desired Skills
- Proficiency in Python (ETL libraries like pandas & Fast APIs are a must)
- Experience with relational database (MYSQL, MSSQL, or similar RDBMS)
