Your Role And Responsibilities

As a Senior software developer in Db2 for z/OS team, you will be?part of the team?responsible for developing and maintaining the Db2 product on the z/OS platform. You will work?on the design, implementation, and testing of?new features that meet the needs of our clients. You will work with client and client success teams to resolve customer problems as well as deliver potential new enhancements with high quality.We are looking for someone having proficiency with Assembler, PL/X and has a strong desire to learn new technologies and is passionate about product quality. Candidates with strong programming, debugging and general problem troubleshooting skills are needed to excel in this position. As part of this role, you will also create function test cases to ensure code changes meet customer and internal requirements.

Required Technical And Professional Expertise

• Minimum 10-15 years of relevant software development experience
• Relevant work experience in product development will be an added advantage
• Programming skills in Assembler, PL/X
• Additional programming skills namely C/C++, Java will be an added advantage
• Proficiency in source control management tools (GitHub, Jenkin etc.,)
• Strong analytical, debugging and problem-solving skills to analyze issues and defects reported by customer and test teams
• Knowledgeable about Db2 database or RDBMS concepts, SQL databases
• Familiarity with agile software development processes
• Ability to innovate in the areas of Product Engineering
• Good communication skills and fluency in English
• Flexible working schedule to collaborate with developers and teams located across different time zones
• Education - Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related technical field.
  

Preferred Technical And Professional Experience

• Programming skills in Assembler, PL/X, C, C++, Java and JCL
• Experience with z/OS, z/VM
• Experience with Db2 for z/OS application development, SQL
• Ability to analyze system output from systems abends (logs, dumps)
• IBM Certified Db2 for z/OS Associate will be an added advantage
• Ability to work effectively within an Agile/Scrum team structure
