Role Overview

Senior SAP Transportation Management (TM) Consultant

Key Responsibilities

1. Implementation & Configuration

• Lead

  SAP TM implementation, rollout, and support projects

  .
• Configure TM components including:
  

• Freight Order Management

• Transportation Planning & Optimization (TPO / VSR)

• Carrier Selection & Tendering

• Charge Management & Settlement

• Transportation Network & Master Data

• Resource Management (Vehicle, Equipment, Drivers)

• Design and configure planning profiles, planning strategies, and optimizer settings.

2. Integration

• Strong knowledge of integration with:
  

• SAP ECC / S/4HANA (SD, MM, LE, EM)

• SAP EWM integration

  (inbound/outbound)

• GTS, PI/PO, APIs, CIF

• Setup and troubleshoot

  PPO, PPF, qRFCs

  , and master data replication.

3. Business Process & Requirements

• Conduct requirement workshops and map business processes to TM functionalities.
• Prepare

  Functional Specs

  , work with ABAP teams for enhancements, BAdIs, BAPIs, and extensions.
• Design transportation processes such as

  order-based

  ,

  delivery-based

  , and

  freight settlement

  processes.

4. Testing & Deployment

• Prepare and execute

  SIT, UAT

  , and perform defect analysis/resolution.
• Support

  cutover, go-live, hypercare

  , and post-production activities.

5. Leadership & Collaboration

• Lead junior consultants and guide offshore/onshore teams.
• Work closely with business SMEs, integration teams, and project managers.
• Provide L3 support and continuous process improvement recommendations.

Required Skills

• 9+ years of hands-on experience

  in SAP Transportation Management.
• Strong knowledge of

  TM embedded in S/4HANA

  and/or

  TM 9.x

  .
• Expertise in:
• Freight Order / Freight Booking
• Planning & VSR Optimization
• Charge Management (Rate Tables, Calculation Sheets)
• Tendering (manual, automatic, EDI-based)
• Dangerous Goods handling (optional)
• Experience with

  BOPF

  framework, PPF actions, BRF+, and TM master data.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to translate business requirements into functional design.

Good to Have

• Experience in

  EWM+TM embedded scenarios

  .
• Knowledge of

  SAP Event Management (EM)

  .
• Experience with

  Fiori apps

  , UI5, and TM analytics.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum project environments.
