SAP APO (Advanced Planner and Optimizer) Consultant

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and execute

  end-to-end SAP APO implementations

  , rollouts, and support projects.
• Configure and optimize key APO modules, including:
  

• DP (Demand Planning)

• SNP (Supply Network Planning)

• PP/DS (Production Planning and Detailed Scheduling)

• GATP (Global Available-to-Promise)

• Work closely with business users to gather requirements, design solutions, and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
  
• Provide expertise in

  business process re-engineering

  related to supply chain and production planning.
• Ensure seamless

  integration between APO and SAP ECC (MM, PP, SD, BW, FI/CO)

  .
• Collaborate with manufacturing teams to integrate APO solutions with

  manufacturing execution systems (MES) and related applications

  .
• Prepare

  functional specifications

  , system design documents, and test cases.
• Drive

  UAT (User Acceptance Testing)

  , training, and knowledge transfer to business and IT teams.
• Offer post-implementation support and ensure stable operations with minimal business disruption.
  
• Engage in

  stakeholder management

  by effectively communicating with business leaders, supply chain teams, and IT counterparts.
• Support initiatives involving

  OMP application

  , where knowledge of OMP planning solutions will be an added advantage.
• Ensure compliance with

  service management principles

  (Incident, Change, and Problem Management).

Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelors degree in

  Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field

  .

• 10–14+ years of professional experience

  with at least 3–4 full-cycle SAP APO implementations.
• Strong knowledge of

  end-to-end APO / Business Planning processes

  , beyond tool configuration.
• Hands-on experience in one or more APO modules (DP, SNP, PP/DS, GATP).
  
• Strong

  integration knowledge with SAP ECC

  and manufacturing modules (MM, PP, SD, BW).
• Exposure to

  OMP application

  is an advantage.
• Proven track record in

  stakeholder management, requirement gathering, and solution design

  .
• Excellent

  analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills

  .
• Ability to

  work independently

  with minimal supervision as well as collaborate effectively in cross-functional teams.
• Good understanding of

  supply chain management principles, forecasting, and optimization techniques

  .
• Proficiency in

  documentation, communication, and presentation skills

  .
• Knowledge of

  ITIL/service management principles

  is desirable.
• Strong adaptability to work in

  global and multicultural environments

  .

Preferred Experience (Nice-to-Have):

• Knowledge of

  OMP planning application

  .
• Experience in

  S4 HANA Transformation projects

  (APO to IBP migration exposure).
• Familiarity with

  cloud-based SCM solutions

  .
• Domain knowledge in industries like

  manufacturing, automotive, CPG, or pharmaceuticals
