Job Description

We are hiring a Senior Python Backend Engineer to design, build, and operate scalable, API-driven backend systems that power our AI Insights platform.
This role focuses on engineering rigor, scale, reliability and production readiness, with limited direct AI/LLM work. The candidate will integrate AI services built by others rather than designing prompts or models themselves.

Key Focus
Scalable backend architecture + production-grade APIs + operational excellence.

Core Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain highly scalable Python backend services
Develop and consume REST APIs used by AI workflows and customer-facing systems
Own service reliability: logging, monitoring, retries, error handling, and alerts
Integrate AI/LLM services via clean abstraction layers (API-based consumption)
Implement cost controls, rate limiting, and safeguards for downstream AI usage
Work closely with AI engineers to productionize workflows
Participate in on-call / production support as needed

Required Skills

Strong Python backend development experience (production systems)
Experience building API-based microservices at scale
Solid understanding of system design, performance bottlenecks, and scaling
Databases: MySQL, Redis
Infrastructure: Docker, AWS
Queues / async processing: SQS, Celery, or equivalent
Observability: logs, metrics, tracing
Secure API design (auth, secrets management)
